Office Manager/Bookkeeper

We're looking for an experienced Office Manager & Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day operations at Venn.

This is a two-part role:

As Office Manager, you will be responsible for making Venn the best place to be an employee, client or even just a visitor.

As Bookkeeper, with the help of an external management accountant, you’ll be responsible for raising invoices, liaising with customers and ensuring prompt payment.

Venn Digital is a well-established digital marketing agency with an exceptional reputation and an enviable client list.

Our continued success is down to our amazing team and we are looking for a new Office Manager to join this team and help support the business in its next stage of growth.

The role is based out of our contemporary offices at The Glasshouse, Alderley Park, set in 400 acres of parkland with onsite parking, gym, café and pub.

This is a full-time role although there remains a degree of flexibility on total hours and start and finish time to suit the perfect candidate. This is a pivotal role for the business, coordinating all areas of day-to-day operations, ensuring the business runs harmoniously and helping set cultural excellence.

Your Responsibilities

As an Office Manager you will:

Provide office support for all members of the business.

Be the main operational point of contact for external contractors and suppliers.

Provide HR support to all department heads to ensure all process and procedures are followed correctly and providing input to any strategic HR changes.

Manage all work events, from industry exhibitions to the Christmas party.

Support in the recruitment process, including helping onboard all new staff.

Be a central point in the office, providing support at every level and helping generate a culture of ownership, collaboration and professional excellence.

As a Bookkeeper you will:

Use Xero to raise new invoices and keeping our accounts system up-to-date.

Liaise with and paying suppliers.

Support with credit control and customer enquiries on invoices to ensure payment on time.

Credit card reconciliation.

Work with our accountants to ensure timely delivery of monthly management accounts.

The Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role, and at least 5 years’ experience of working in an office environment.
  • Bookkeeping and credit control experience (Xero is preferable) To be able to confidently communicate and build relationships from board level to newly recruited apprentices.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to understand and question given objectives and work on own initiative.
  • Willingness to provide strategic input to senior managers.
  • To be able to provide a ‘litmus’ test of office culture and mood. To be resilient and positive even under pressure.
